What does a Green Deal Assessor do?
A Green Deal Assessor will visit your home and make an assessment of the most appropriate improvements you can make to your home to make it more energy efficient. They will also estimate the savings you may be able to make on your energy bills. They do this by asking questions about the people and appliances in your home to help to look at energy usage, and checking the age and construction of the property to consider how energy efficient your house already is, and what can be done to improve it. If you have any recent energy bills, it may be useful to show those to the Assessor when they visit. They will produce a report on their findings, called a Green Deal Advice Report which should contain the following:
An EPC for the property
An assessment of how much energy you are currently using
Suggestions on the improvements you could make to increase the energy efficiency of your home
An estimate of the savings you could make if you made those improvements
An indication of whether the cost of improvements is likely to be able to be covered by the reduction in energy costs you will see if you made the improvements.
The report is valid for 10 years, and will be necessary if you decide to try and get funding for the improvements through a Green Deal Provider
What does a Green Deal Provider do?
A Green Deal Provider will look at the financial aspects of the Green Deal, and help you to work out if a Green Deal Finance Plan is appropriate. They will then be able to sort out the finance for you and can usually arrange the subsequent installation by a recognised Green Deal Installer.
Filling in the form above will give you a set of estimates for Green Deal Advice Reports provided directly from Green Deal Assessors You will also be provided with a full set of contact details for each supplier so you can make direct contact with them to discuss your requirement in more detail.
